Innsbruck 2024 //

Whilst Innsbruck in winter attracts those who ski, add a little sunlight to the city below the mountains and photographically it comes alive. That said, at 8am on a February morning, darkness still prevails as it envelopes the 6 white gowns on Fallmereyer-Strasse displayed for the Tirol Ball.

On a grey February morning before any natural light had established itself, two bright yellow buses provide a little colour by the Central Station.

Late afternoon sunlight falls on the the burnt mustard walls of the Landestheatre
The Landesmuseum is not the most interesting art gallery in Europe. However, the building has grandeur. Whilst there is a small Breughel and a larger Caravaggio to be found, the red chair positioned on one of the corridors at the front of the building was the object which seemed to call to be photographed.

A man in shadows enters The Hofburg from Hofgasse behind a bright red coat.
Two angels in the central cemetery
A resident of the Alpenzoo stares back unblinkingly
On a Berlin-like, grey, winter morning an uninspiring road leading away from the Central Station was lifted by the attentive eyes of a piece of blue street art.
A bicycle and deep shadows on Stainerstrasse
The midday sunlight enters the darkness of the 1st floor gallery of the Landesmuseum to create the impression of a mint-green neon tube surrounding a shrouded window
Walking by the Landestheatre as the late afternoon light enhances the orange and terracotta palette of the theatre, partially hidden by the splendid tree by the Leopold Fountain
